“Life is not merely being alive, but being well.” (Marcus Martialis) The lives most of us live are very busy and demand more hours in a day than given. We have work, families, errands, schooling and an abundance of other things that make up our individual American dreams. But with all these time consuming tasks, it can be hard to find time to get up, get active and stay healthy.

Many of us sit at desks and keep stationary most of the day, and some of us just don’t get the exercise we desire. Here at Gabriel Insurance, we feel the same things! So we are encouraging our clients and each other around the office to get up, get active and stay healthy. There are little things that can be done during the day to help stay fit like parking a little farther away, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, drinking lots of water during the day and going for a short walk on your lunch break and bringing healthy lunches and snack.

Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.

(Chinese Proverb)

There are of course many larger and more effective things that can be done, such as starting a walking group amongst coworkers and neighboring businesses, going for a jog the first half of your lunch break, changing your daily diet and riding a bike to work instead of driving. There are so many ways to get up, get active and get healthy!

salad-300x174Along with better health, being active will help to keep insurance premiums down! When we have less doctor visits and medications we’ll have more money in your pockets after a good day’s work! And just like getting and staying healthy, it is a continuous thing. It may take time, but in the end it will preserve us, keeping us active, healthy and happy. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” (Aristotle) As of 2014, we will all need to have insurance. Let Gabriel Insurance Agency help you to find ways to get up, get active and stay healthy, while providing you with the most appropriate benefit plan for you!
